European projects

Horizon Europe is the new EU research and innovation program of the European Commission (EC) with €95.5 billion in funding for the seven-year period. A good opportunity to familiarise yourself with the EC's funding criteria is to work as a scientific evaluator. You will find all the relevant information on the Portal Funding & Tender Opportunities.

The call ‘Strengthening the capacity of citizen science in biodiversity observation’ from the Horizon Europe programme supports the implementation of the European Green Deal, the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 and the Nature Restoration Regulation. Funding is provided for projects that actively involve citizens in the observation and documentation of biodiversity and thus contribute to climate protection and adaptation measures at local level.

Projects should also specifically involve young people, hard-to-reach groups and vulnerable population groups. Practical approaches are required, for example through school materials, participatory apps or training concepts.

Deadline: 17 September 2025
